Buckram For Curtain Headings
Buckram for curtain headings is used to create beautiful handmade headings such as pinch pleats and goblet pleats on hand-pleated curtains. Made from 100% cotton, it is stiffened to keep your pleats looking crisp and defined — a professional alternative to curtain tape.
We stock a range of weights and types to suit every curtain project:
- Light sew-in buckram — ideal for lightweight fabrics or shorter curtains
- Heavy sew-in buckram — suited to long curtains or heavy, interlined curtains
- Single fusible buckram — heat-activated adhesive on one side; iron in between curtain and lining to save making time
- Double fusible buckram — heat-activated adhesive on both sides for an even quicker finish
- Translucent buckram — made from polypropylene rather than cotton; used in the same way for voiles and very sheer, lightweight fabrics
Buckram can also be used for curtain tie-backs.
