Buckram for curtain headings

Buckram for curtain headings is used to create hand made headings such as pinch and goblet pleats on hand pleated curtains. It is used instead of using curtain tape. It is made from 100% cotton and stiffened so it keeps the pleats in place. It is available in light and heavy sew-in weights. Light sew-in buckram is used for light fabrics and or short length curtains. Heavy sew-in buckram is used for long curtains or heavy weight fabrics. Both weights are available in 4,5 and 6 inch widths and can be bought by the metre or in full rolls.

To cut down the work of sewing in buckram we have the popular single and double fusible buckrams. These 100% cotton buckrams have a heat activated adhesive on one side. They can be ironed onto the fabric rather than sewn in and are very popular with our curtain makers. Both types of fusible buckram are available in 4,5 and 6 inch widths, and can be bought by the metre or in full rolls

Translucent buckram in used in the same way for voiles and very sheer, light fabrics. This buckram is not made from cotton but a sheet polypropolene. It is 100cm or 4inches wide and can be bought by the metre or in full rolls of 100 metres.
